Counselling & Contact Service

Unlike most services available, ‘Kick-Off’ is dedicated to Rugby League. There is the familiarity with the unique lifestyle and career path of the player and an understanding of the stressors that come with playing the game. As such, we provide a service that caters for & understands the needs of those involved in the Rugby League arena.

Our phone contact & counselling service operates 24 hours, 7 days a week and is manned by experienced and qualified personnel. Some of our counsellors are ex-players, from different areas and different levels, though all have experienced the ups & downs of league life. Simply being an 'ex-player' is not a pre-requisite for the staffing of our service and there must be the associated and essential clinical knowledge and counselling skills as well.

We undertake training for all counsellors with respect to what is required and the overall ‘Kick Off’ program & service. In this way we maintain continuity and consistency.

Confidentiality and privacy are guaranteed. This is the commitment we make to anyone who avails themselves of our service. There is no requirement to leave a phone number, name, address etc.

There are certainly services that offer phone contact and most are very reputable, compassionate and sincere in their endevours. We are not attempting to take priority and you are more than welcome to contact these services should you wish. We endorse them, though we believe that due to our ‘Rugby League Specific’ service, we can more adequately deal the resultant problems that can arise.

As stated before, ours is a 24/7 service, where you speak immediately with qualified personnel. There are no call backs required, no messages to be left and no need for any personal details.

The ‘Kick Off’ phone contact and counseling service is available for all those involved with Rugby League – be they, players, player’s spouses or partners, families of players, ex-players, coaching and conditioning staff, club officials and administrators and referees.
